The Wheel of Time

Well - I thought I'd surprise you here, if you happen to be reading the Wez G blog. I'm not a man who's just about football and house music. I try and vary my interests greatly and have a thirst for devouring knowledge across the board...

I was up late on the weekend DJing and it takes a while to get your sleep patterns back into normality.>> People may see this as a disadvantage, but personally I find the periods of the night immediately prior to dawn as the most productive of all as there is a general stillness and psychic calmness in the atmosphere...

I've been chilling watching the annual speech of the Chinese premier, Wen Jiabao, live on BBC news. Chinese economy may sound a bit serious, but, luckily for you it isn't the purpose of the blog. It's always nice to suddenly change direction so I brewed up a pot of tea and reached for the bookshelf and dug out the book of quotations of Mexican shaman, Don Juan. I'd been saving it for some time. It's written by his long time pupil, Carlos Casteneda, and is called The Wheel of Time. I'm all webbed up at the mo so I felt obliged to share with you a particularly provocative quote. So here it is....

"Anything is one of a million paths. therefore a warrior must always keep in mind that a path is only a path; if he feels that he should not follow it, he must not stay with it under any conditions. His decision to keep on that path or to leave it must be free of fear or ambition. He must look at every path closely and deliberately. There is a question that a warrior has to ask, mandatorily: Does this path have a heart?

All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. However, a path without a heart is never enjoyable. On the other hand, a path with heart is easy - it does not make a warrior work at liking it; it makes for a joyful journey; as long as a man follows it, he is one with it."

For you non-readers who don't wish to follow up on this literary reference which I would well advise, as Carlos Castaneda is full of revolutionarily zealous thought, here is a link to TV with warriors in http://www.warriorsmovie.co.uk/

Ps. the new Wez G website is up and running. Still under construction, but some interesting stuff there... http;//www.wezg.org.uk

Right - bed for me now. i've a podcast to record tomorrow...
